Uruk: The First City, A Multiagent Artificial Intelligence Project

Avatar Shaqq Korobase will give a demo and tour Uruk island. His “project aims at simulating everyday life of ancient citizens of the first city on Earth. To his knowledge, that’s the only project of such kind where the students can not only observe the architecture, but also interact with its virtual citizens. His virtual humans (agents) are quite intelligent and believable with a number of A.I. features present: dynamic planning, obstacle avoidance, crowd simulation, priority planning, believable gesture use and gaze behaviour, group behaviour, complex object use, complex environment awareness model including a technology for formalising social norms. The agents are also capable to converse with human visitors. One agent can learn by imitation from conversations with authorised subject matter experts.”
